Details of Service:
Western Health provides the following service for patients who require assessment and management of respiratory conditions.
The Respiratory services at Western Health are both publicly and MBS funded. They are bulk billed and therefore there is no out of pocket fee associated with this service.
Please ensure that all referrals have a clinicians name on it or it will be unable to be accepted.
The service provides support for the following conditions:
- COPD
- Pulmonary Fibrosis
- Obstructive Sleep Apneoa

- Dr Thilini Basnayake
Current Session Times (effective 20th January 2023)
All sessions are located at Melton Community Services Green Building.
Respiratory appointments are offered on Tuesday afternoons and Thursdays.
Important Information:
Please ensure that all recent blood tests, pathology etc are attached to the referrals.
Providing relevant investigations and results will assist in appropriate and timely triage of your patients.
The following conditions are NOT able to be seen at Western Health and it is suggested they are referred to a tertiary hospital.
- Suspected active TB
- Massive hemaptysis
- Unilateral pleural effusion
- Suspected lung cancer please refer to Lung Clinic Western Health (Footscray)
