Adult Speech Pathology

Description of Service

Speech Pathologists help people to manage and improve their communication and ability to swallow food and drinks. This includes providing therapy, education, using different methods to communicate and teaching others how to help.

People may need to see a Speech Pathologist due to progressive neurological conditions (e.g. Parkinson’s Disease, Motor Neuron Disease, Huntington’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Dementia), stroke, chronic diseases or disability.

Speech Pathology services are also on offer within our Rehabilitation Service.

How do I get an appointment

If you are over the age of 65 (50 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders) please contact My Aged Care on 1800 200 422.

You may have a GP referral to access this service or contact 03 9747 7609 to arrange a self-referral

If you are an NDIS Participant please contact 03 9747 760.
