| Service Description | The Audiology Clinic (services provided by HEARLINK) is undertaken using a "sub-contractor" model to provide hearing assessments for children less than 16 years of age. Priority if given to infants referred by the Victorian Infant Hearing Screening Programme (VIHSP), children whom have been referred to us by an Ear Nose and Throat specialist, as well as children with developmental delays, other disabilities, or who otherwise require a hearing assessment. Some services will incur a cost for services. Other fee-paying services offered include Diagnostic Audiological evaluations for all age groups, screening audiometry for industrial, aviation and police assessments, Central Auditory Processing evaluation, Workcover assessments, hearing aid fittings or evaluation, tinnitus management, free hearing assessments and hearing aids for eligible pensioners and DVA clients, ear moulds including swim plugs, noise plugs and musician earplugs, as well as wax removal. |
| Eligibility | Referrals from a General Practitioner, Any Allied Health Professions, Maternal and Child Health Service, Hospital or Local Government Service for any child below 16 years of age to be seen in the Public clinic or Medicare clinic. |
| Access hours | Monday to Friday between 9.00 and 4.30pm |
| Cost to client | Nil for public patients through Melton Health (<16 years of age). $60 gap payment for Medicare system (<16 years of age). Fee for service provided through Hearlink for all children and adult consultations other than for eligible pensioners and DVA clients who receive free hearing assessments and hearing aid fittings/evaluations. |
