Service Description | The Family Violence Prevention Program (FVPP) is an integrated program with components designed to meet the needs of children, women, and men who have been affected by issues of family violence. Separate services for children, women and men, but family sessions are available where appropriate. Services include group programmes and/or individual counselling for children and women, and men’s behaviour change group programmes for men. Partners/ex-partners/family members of men in the programme are also offered support. Childcare is provided to all programs at no cost to the client. |
Eligibility | All residents of the City of Melton and Moorabool Shire including those who attend school or work in Melton or Moorabool. Entry to all parts of the FVPP is by individual assessment. The men’s group programme can take men from anywhere within the state of Victoria. |
Access hours | Contact the Referral and Appointment Service, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. Men’s group programmes operate after hours. |
Referral process | Self-referral or from General Practitioner and other health professionals/organisations. |
Cost to client | Pension or Health Care Card holders pay a reduced fee. Women and Children’s Family Violence Counselling and Support programmes are no cost to the client. Men’s program: Assessment sessions $20 unemployed/concession; $40 employed. Group sessions, per session $10 unemployed/concession; $20 employed. |
