Description of Service:

The dietitians provide nutrition education and information for children and adults based on current evidence-based practice.

Individual appointments:

Are available across all campuses or in the home. People see dietitians for a range of reasons including:

  • General healthy eating
  • Diabetes
  • Healthy eating in pregnancy
  • Cholesterol and heart health
  • Weight management support (overweight or underweight)
  • Poor appetite
  • Digestive health such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or coeliac disease
  • Nutrient deficiencies
  • Nutrition relating to a disability or mental health condition

Appointments for children include:  

  • Fussy eating
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Weight management support (overweight or underweight)
  • Food Allergies
  • Nutrient deficiencies
  • Management of premature infants

Group education programs:

Group programs are held across all campuses or in external community spaces.

  • Cooking programs
  • Supermarket tours
  • Label reading
  • Carbohydrate counting
  • DAFNE (Dose Adjustment for Normal Eating) program for people living with Type 1 Diabetes
  • Healthy eating and lifestyle sessions can be tailored to your groups specific needs

  • Caroline Springs community Health Centre
  • Bacchus Marsh Community Health Centre
  • Our dietitians service the Melton Haemodialysis Unit, Bacchus Marsh and Melton Regional Hospital, and Grant Lodge Residential Aged Care.

If you are over the age of 65 (50 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders) please contact My Aged Care on 1800 200 422.

You may have a GP referral to access this service or contact 03 9747 7609 to arrange a self-referral.
