| Service Description | The Wound Consultant is available to assess and review all wounds including complex leg ulcers. The Wound Consultant works with the District Nursing Team and visits clients in their home. |
| Eligibility | Any person requiring a district nurse. |
| Access hours | 3 days a week Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 8.00 am – 4.30 pm |
| Referral process | By client’s District Nurse, General Practitioner, treating Hospital, or self referral. |
| Cost to client | By client’s General Practitioner, Treating Hospital, Regional Assessment Service, Aged Care Assessment service or self referral. |
| Cost to client | Pensioner under 65 years $3.90 per visit. (Capped at $39 per month depending on number of visits and individual circumstances) Over 65 years $5.00 per visit (Capped at $50.00 per month depending on number of visits and individual circumstances) Other fees dependent on self-assessment guidelines provided by the Department of Human Services. |
