| Service Description | The Medical/Surgical Unit has a variety of services for general medical conditions and provides post-operative care. The ward is staffed at all times by Registered and Enrolled nurses. General Medical Practitioners with approved in-patient admission rights are able to admit patients with acute medical conditions to the ward. The admission process is organised through the Nurse Manager, or the person deputising in the position, and is dependent upon bed availability. In addition to General Practitioners, there are many Specialist Medical Services provided. |
| Eligibility | All people requiring public hospital care under the Medicare Agreement or private patients. All patients must be admitted by a Medical Officer with hospital admitting rights to Western Health. |
