| Service Description | Patients with a surgical booking are contacted by phone for health assessment, anaesthetic risk assessment and discharge planning. Pre Admission Clinic staff use the patients health questionnaire as a guide and the patient may be booked into the clinic for an appointment with the Pre-admission Clinic nurse/anaesthetist. Anti-embolitic stockings are fitted in Pre Admission Clinic. |

| Referral process | All surgical patients are assessed by the Pre Admission Clinic. If required, Medical Practitioners may request an assessment by an anaesthetist prior to surgery or booking surgery to assess patients suitability for surgery at Bacchus Marsh Hospital. |
| Cost to client | Nil charge for assessment. ECG’s, blood tests, medical practitioner fees are all bulk billed. |
